Colleges are visiting BCHS on a weekly basis this fall.  Please log into your Naviance page, go to the top, click on "College", then "College Visits" to see an updated list of these visits.



COLLEGE HAPPENINGS:
Futures/College Night - From 5:45-6:15pm will be a Fair format: colleges, military, internships, concurrent enrollment (ASCENT).  Starting at 6:20pm, there will be a financial aid presentation, followed by two breakout sessions starting at 7:00pm.  The breakout sessions will include:

  • Community Colleges—what they are and the benefits to attending
  • Finding the Right College Fit
  • College Admissions
  • FAFSA completion session  
  • ASCENT/TREP concurrent enrollment options

You will be able to attend two of the four sessions.  If you choose to attend the FAFSA completion session, please bring the documents referenced in this link to be able to use your time efficiently. 

The 2022-2023 Colorado Collegiate Handbook will be available for sale for $5.  This book is published by Colorado Council on High School/College Relations and provides updates on almost every college and university in Colorado including tuition, majors, programs, and activities.  If you cannot attend but would like to purchase this resource, contact Kristen Kofoed, 303-982-8721.

Free College Application Day$ are October 17-19, 2023 Applications submitted to public (and many private) colleges in Colorado on these days can be submitted without an application fee.  Click here for more information.

If you need help with your applications, please join us Wednesday, October 19th in the counseling office for College Application Day.  Come during your free period or with a pass from a teacher.  Counselors will be available to help you submit those college applications for free on this day!

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

SAE is currently hiring a part-time Program Aide or Leader for subbing opportunities in the Littleton and South Lakewood area. I am reaching out to see if you have any high school students that may be interested in working with children ages 5 – 12 after school, and are available M-F. We may have need before school (7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.) for any students that have more flexible schedules.

Following are some details of the positions:
Support Director in a structured Before and After School Program

  • Hourly salary starts at $12.44 per hour depending on experience
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Hours are approx. 12-15 per week, although not guaranteed (potential for summer hours, if enrollment requires additional staff)
  • Shifts are mostly after school, M-F  3:30 – 5:30/6p.m. (some before school shifts may be available)
  • Variable straight shifts may be offered full days and breaks depending on staff availability and program need

·        If a position is offered, Fingerprint and Background checks (fees paid by applicant) are required before hire
