As part of this 1:1 Initiative, all Chromebooks distributed to students have an included, limited one-year manufacturer's warranty that essentially covers defective parts of the laptop, if there are any. This limited one-year manufacturers warranty does NOT cover accidental damage of any kind, nor does it cover loss or theft of the device.

However, as part of our negotiated deal, an extended warranty called an "Accidental Damage Plan" (ADP) is available for purchase. Despite the added financial burden, we strongly encourage families to purchase an ADP as the cost of repair is generally much higher than the cost of a warranty. If you are interested in doing so, please visit the link below.

Repair Costs, Process, and Policies

If your device is acting unusual but nothing appears to be physically broken, go to the district TechForEd website and check the troubleshooting guide to see if there is an easy fix to the issue you are having.

If you have physically broken your device, take it to the library to check it in for repair, which will be done by Lenovo certified personnel in Jeffco. Students may be given a loaner device to use during the time their device is out for repair. Per Jeffco District Policy, families will be billed the cost of the repair, if you have not purchased an Accidental Damage Warranty. Fees can be paid in Jeffco Connect when the repair is complete. Any unpaid repair costs will convert into fines at the end of the school year.


If your device is lost, contact your school librarian to report it lost and/or stolen. Steps will be taken to locate the device and the last person to log into the device. If those efforts to locate the device are not successful, the device will be disabled, rendering it useless, which often leads to it being returned.

If your device has been lost or stolen during a school break (summer, spring break, etc.) call 303-982-5678 to report it lost/stolen. If we are unable to locate the device, the student’s fee account will be charged the full replacement cost and students will be issued a replacement device.
